Participation
Global
Dialogues
Participants in the Global
Dialogues (video conferences and online
discussions)and field visits will be selected by the Bank's
Regional units which originated the case studies.
Videoconference sessions will be delivered through the Global
Development Learning Network (GDLN) distance
learning centers or World Bank offices in participating
countries. They will include case study presenters, and
discussants consisting of development practitioners,
policymakers, and other specialists in the topic under
discussion.
Online Discussions will start one week before a video
conference and will last 6-8 weeks.
Participation in Global Dialogues and Online Discussions is
by invitation.
Shanghai Conference
Six hundred participants will be invited to the Conference in
Shanghai, including more than 500 international and local
participants, representatives of governments, civil society
groups, U.N. agencies, multilateral development institutions,
bilateral aid agencies, and regional development banks.
Participant
profiles:
- high
level policymakers from countries within the region, i.e.
where the Bank is engaged in policy dialogues on topics
covered in the conference;
- practitioners,
policymakers, and world leaders with the best knowledge of
the case studies;
- researchers
and scholars;
- civil
society, NGOs, and private sector representatives;
- donor
community representatives, multilateral,s and other
development partners.
Conference
participants will be invited by letter on behalf of the World
Bank and the Government of China.
